Draw reins are commonly used as a training aid to help horses develop proper frame, responsiveness to rein aids, and improved balance. When used thoughtfully, they assist in encouraging the horse to lower the head, engage the topline, and soften into contact, making them best suited for experienced riders or supervised training sessions. 

Designed for horses who benefit from a softer, more forgiving approach to training, these all-leather draw reins combine the familiar feel of leather with an elastic bungee section at the end. 

The elastic bungee introduces controlled stretch into the draw rein action, which gives the horse a little more softness, helping the rein influence the horse’s head and neck position without creating an unnecessarily rigid feel. The elastic does not eliminate the purpose or tension of the draw reins, but allows it to be more progressive instead of restricting the movement to a fixed length.

Riders can connect the draw reins either at the centre of the girth or to the side rings using the snap hooks. The adjustable design allows riders to adapt the setup to their preferred training arrangement and the needs of the horse.

The 6/8" wide leather rein section is designed to be held comfortably in the rider’s hands, offering a secure, familiar feel similar to standard reins. Finished with matching stitching & stainless steel hardware, these draw reins offer long-term durability and secure attachment throughout use.

How to measure your reins?

To measure your horse reins, you need to begin from the hole (A₁) where the reins begin when assembled to the other end (A₂) of the reins where the bit is attached, as shown in the image below.

Almost all of our reins are 5/8" wide except the curb reins, which are 4/8" wide. You can also get them customised to be thinner or wider according to your liking.
