Designed with refined simplicity, the Exion Leather Curb Reins are a must-have addition for riders using a double bridle, particularly in dressage or for horses ridden in a pelham bit.
With a slim 13mm width, these curb reins provide a precise connection, ideal for experienced hands seeking subtle communication. Thoughtfully minimalistic, these leather curb reins are free of hand or martingale stoppers, maintaining a smooth, unobtrusive feel, perfect for maintaining close contact with finesse.
While our entire collection features hook stud fastenings—which are especially popular now—we’ve used buckle fastenings for these reins to cater to different preferences. Moreover, buckles offer a cleaner look, minimise bulk under the fingers, and are often considered more secure and easier to adjust—especially helpful in quick tack changes during competition or training.
That said, if you prefer the modern appeal of hook fastenings, we completely understand. You just need to place a custom order, and we’ll be happy to make the reins with hook closures for you.

How to measure your reins?
To measure your horse reins, you need to begin from the hole (A1) where the reins begin when assembled to the other end (A2) of the reins where the bit is attached, as shown in the image below.
Size Chart
Almost all of our reins are 5/8" wide except the curb reins, which are 4/8" wide. You can also get them customised to be thinner or wider according to your liking.
